Galentine's Day
Diet and exercise have been shown to lengthen our lives, but new studies have found that making friends and surrounding yourself with a “tribe,” not only lends itself to longevity but also increases the quality of our lives. It’s a win/win!
So Galentine’s Day is the perfect time to celebrate our beautiful gal friends. Whether your friend is a foodie or an adventurist, I have a few ideas to keep the celebration exciting.
For the friend who likes to keep their tastebuds in full gear, consider a cooking class, wine tasting or even book a private chef in the comfort of your own home. What better way to bond than over a delicious meal. We all have that one friend who has a sweet tooth. Consider a night of baking (and wine of course.)
Active friends - these are my favorite. Plan a hike. When you reach the top, have a picnic and enjoy the views and celebrate your accomplishment. If you’re looking for something a little less strenuous, plan a “Tour de Neighborhood” on your bikes. Sign up for a new exercise class, maybe pilates or yoga. Nothing been than working up a sweat with friends.
Do your friends have stressful jobs? Maybe relaxing is their thing, how about a trip to the spa or day of self-care? This is a great way to unwind and reset your mind and body. Is your favorite RomCom slated to hit the movie theater or the Netflix lineup? Celebrate Galentine’s day with movie night, popcorn and your favorite Lifetime movie.
And last but not least, I am all for throwing a party. Host a party that celebrates your friends, dress up, sing karaoke, have good wine, do a gift swap, laugh until your belly hurts (or you pee), play a board game and just enjoy this life and the wonderful friends you have made along the way.
xoxo
